The Airport Fire Officers Association (AFOA) is a professional organization dedicated to supporting and advancing the interests of airport fire officers and fire services. It focuses on promoting high standards in airport fire safety, emergency response, and leadership through training, information sharing, and collaboration. The AFOA provides a platform for its members to exchange knowledge, discuss industry developments, and enhance their skills in fire safety management, ensuring that airports maintain a high level of preparedness for emergencies.

Newcastle International Airport Training Academy provides a range of accredited Firefighting and Safety related training courses to clients from around the world.
Our Aviation Firefighting courses are accredited by the Falck Fire Academy which ensures our high standards are maintained with assessment and educational oversight supported by strategic partner Newcastle College. As Rosenbauer UK`s approved training provider in the UK for HRET training we are also able to deliver Skills for Justice accredited courses with the very latest equipment. Emergency Response Driver Training Ltd

(ERDT) is the only Royal Society for The Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Internationally accredited training provider that can offer a range of Airport Fire Service driver training courses accredited by RoSPA and written in-line with the High-Speed Driver Training codes of practice, CAP 699 AFF2.
We also deliver Airside Defensive Driving Safety Awareness (ADD-Safety Awareness)

Station Manager – Service Delivery

Airport Firefighter

As an Airport Firefighter, you will be responsible for conducting firefighting and rescue operations, ensuring the safe operation of aircraft, and responding to domestic and special service incidents. In addition, you will provide humanitarian and operational assistance as required.

The purpose of this job description is to indicate the general level of responsibility of the role. BHX Fire & Rescue reserves the right to amend duties and responsibilities as necessary to meet the changing needs of the business.
