Panel Session – Operational Risks

The first panel session is underway featuring SME’s discussing operational risk across a variety of UK airports. The discussions are around what the unique risks are within the airports and what the operational response to that risk is and how it is managed differently at each airport. Panel guests include Neil Gray – CAA, Dave Bartlett – Heathrow, Charles Dixon – Newquay and James Millar – HIAL. Dave Bartlett discusses the fact that in spite of the size of the airport, every Fire Service Manager is under pressure to maintain operations throughout an incident and return to normal operations as soon as possible. Neil Gray voices over the airport SMS and the importance of this system and the primary role of the RFFS and hoe responses by the airport fire service to terminal and airport buildings should be managed appropriately.
